Are Younique Products Organic and/or Natural?

From Melanie Huscroft:

"Lately, we’ve had several inquiries sent in to support about what all-natural cosmetics means and what constitutes organic verses all-natural. We are aware that not every single ingredient in our products is considered "organic".

To be considered a natural beauty product it may contain as little as 1% naturally grown ingredients, and may or may not contain organically grown ingredients.

Generally, the rule is a cosmetic product being sold as natural is free of common chemicals such as fragrances, colorants, preservatives, and other synthetic additives. There are varying degrees of naturalness, it’s best to check the label, make our own educated decisions, especially if someone's allergic to commonly used synthetic ingredients.

Fortunately, we are clear on the opposite end of this spectrum, and have invested in chemists and extensive research on every single product that we add in our cosmetics. We are very transparent on our site and list every ...single ingredient (unlike many other cosmetics companies).

We want our customers and Presenters to know exactly what is in our cosmetics, and we make sure that it is not only on the site, but on our packaging as well.

You won’t find a cosmetics company on earth that can honestly say that every single one of their cosmetics item and every single one of their ingredients in a mineral from the earth that is completely produced in nature. In fact, many cosmetics company choose to not put it anywhere on their site at all.

We are very proud to say and let you know that all of our ingredients are safe and considered "natural" under the conditions mentioned above and we stand by everything we have said regarding the safety of our products. I firmly believe that educated Presenters is good for business, which is why I have taken the time and energy into dedicating several past Conference Calls on this topic. I LOVE that we don’t have to hide our ingredients and that we can be proud of our cosmetics. You only get ONE face in your lifetime, and Younique takes that very seriously!"

AND what about Organic:

Organic: developing naturally: occurring or developing gradually and naturally, without being forced or contrived. This is one definition of a term so widely used these days. Are we Organic? Well our mineral cosmetics are 100% natural, chemical-free, mineral-based pigment powders, free of talc, oils, preservatives, perfumes, synthetic dyes, and parabens. We are not "certified organic" as that is a very lengthy process that I'm not sure Y Corp will be undertaking. If you are asked this question, provide your customers with all the facts and let them decide for themselves. We will be certified Cruelty-Free as that is currently in process.
